The Great Patriotic War played a special role in shaping the personality of the subsequent generation. This period in history is regarded by scholars as the main factor ensuring the cohesion of society. At present, it is necessary to realize that historical memory is one of the moral foundations of youth education. Studying the role of family memory and oral history in the historical education of schoolchildren about the events of the Great Patriotic War makes it possible to gain a deeper understanding of how these events influence modern society and individual consciousness.
