Abstract

The article substantiates a model of the Centre for Aesthetic Education of Children as an institutional platform for the intergenerational transmission of cultural heritage, integrating family practices, ethnocultural content, and aesthetic activities for the purpose of fostering civic identity in the younger generation. Drawing on theoretical analysis and synthesis of contemporary scholarly publications, the study identifies the key challenges of the current socio-cultural situation: digitalization and the replacement of live communication with virtual interactions, the polarization of value orientations among young people, and the growing gap between generations. The institutional advantages of the Centre for Aesthetic Education as an agent of intergenerational transmission are defined, including the flexibility and learner-centredness of the educational process, the capacity to integrate ethnocultural content, and the creation of an emotionally enriched educational environment. Four interconnected mechanisms for the transmission of cultural heritage are distinguished: engagement with the national personosphere as an axiological resource of identity; historical education; aesthetic and musical activities; and systematic pro-family education. The pivotal role of the supplementary education teacher as a mediator of cultural meanings and a model of value-based behaviour is substantiated. The article concludes that the Centre for Aesthetic Education serves as an integrative platform uniting the efforts of the family, education, and society in preserving cultural heritage and fostering an all-Russian civic identity.
