The paper examines maternal poetry – the lullaby, the nursery rhyme accompanying physical care, the finger-play rhyme, the humorous jingle and the tale for the youngest – as the substantive foundation of the work of a preschool educational organization with families raising children of an early age. It is shown that the transmission of maternal folklore, which for centuries occurred within the family from the older generation to the younger one, has lost its automatic character under present-day conditions and requires organizational support from the education system. Drawing on the project documentation of three preschool educational organizations of the city of Surgut that joined the regional project "Maternal Poetry" in 2026, the authors describe the "four levels of care" model (emotional, cognitive, tactile and spatial), reconstruct the organizational outcomes of the first stage, and propose a system of performance indicators built on the principles of voluntary family participation and the inadmissibility of any diagnostic assessment of the child. The boundaries of scientifically correct claims about maternal poetry and the typical risks of formalizing such projects are outlined.
